A lengthy podcast episode this week (November 18th 2022) as Liam O’Briain and I reflect on the key rugby union news from Ireland and beyond from the week prior.
We review Munster Rugby’s 28-14 win over South Africa Select XV. An incredible occasion at Pairc Ui Chaoimh. This discussion led into memories of Jerry Holland who sadly passed away this week.
Andy Friend’s departure from Connacht Rugby at the end of the season is assessed. We reflect on Friend’s contribution to the province and who may potentially take over.
Liam and I then focus on the Autumn International Series round three. Ireland secured a win over Fiji but the performance was far from cohesive and saw Joey Carbery back on the injured list. We also look at the other key fixtures played. Scotland’s opportunity to beat New Zealand was extinguished late. Wales back on track after a hard fought Argentinian win. Italy secure their first ever win over Australia in Florence.
We finish off the episode by predicting the winners of the round four Autumn International Series fixtures. We did forget the Ireland test match but safe to assume that Liam and I were going for Ireland 🙂 – hope you enjoy the podcast episode. We would like your feedback on the podcast so leave your comment below.
Best wishes – Hawkeye Sidekick (Mark Kennedy) and Liam O’Briain.
