All Ireland Minor Hurling Final: Limerick 2-12 1-14 Tipperary

Limerick bridged a forty-two year gap to secure the Irish Press Cup after a late 1-1 burst broke Tipperary hearts at TUS Gaelic Grounds.

The balmy weather of this week was emphatically replaced by blustery weather conditions. The breeze causing havoc for both sides shot selection.

Tipperary will have serious regrets on this final. This game arguably should have been over in rhe third quarter. Several chances thwarted and eighteen wides tells of attacking struggles.

Limerick valiantly held onto the Tipperary coat tails and can thank their bench for the win. Bench impact delivered.

Chris Dunne with 1-7 on the day had a sideline cut to force extra time but the weather gods caught the attempt and it went wide. Limerick champions.

Limerick resiliency and determination summing up this encounter. The midfield duo of Nelligan and Roche dominated proceedings in the second half and that platform propelled Limerick to success.

Tipperary will learn hard lessons from today. Scoreboard is king. Morrisson, Kennedy and KJ Dunne attempted to deliver game winning contributions but there were too many shooting inaccuracies.
